Wow! What a movie! I went at 2:00 this afternoon to the Flicks - it's Friday how many people will show up at 2 in the afternoon - everyone - i got one of the last seats and the 4:30 show was sold out as well as the 7 o'clock one. (It was showing at Edwards too, but I would rather give my money to some good Idaho democrats than a huge corporation). Channel 12 (Fox) was interviewing people standing in line to buy tickets - I ducked when they came by, but later thought that I wished I had said what I had wanted to - I got another chance after the movie with Channel 6 (abc) and took it. They fitted me with a mic asked my name and some questions - I don't remember exactly what the reporter asked but some of the questions were - what did you think of the movie - 'It was a great movie.' Why did you want to see it - “Because there would be lots of folks with opinions about the movie without seeing it - I wanted my opinion to be an informed one.' Was the movie patriotic - “It was the definition of patriotism - freedom to oppose the government.” Was it Bush bashing - I can't remember what I said. Was it what you expected - (this is the only response that appeared on TV) “It was more intense than I expected. . . tears, lots of tears.” I recorded my performance - I'll bring it with to CA. There was a guy protesting with a sign - I don't remember what it said - he was dressed up as Osama bin Laden and holding what was supposed to be a severed head - as I went by him he asked me if there was enough hate in the movie - I told him, “No, just the truth.”
Rachel said you all (Jim too?) will be seeing it this weekend - I'm looking forward to your reaction. It's a powerful movie - yeah propaganda, but somebody has to stand up to this war crap. Oh, and our own Al Lance appears towards the end.
