Let me tell you over 130 cats living in unsanitary conditions in one house are too many!!
We busted a cat hoarder today - the one I told you about, Rach. I didn't go to the house, but was at the shelter to help take in the cats - carrier after carrier after carrier of flea infested, some emaciated, some very sick cats.
After we transferred as many of them to cages ( we ran out of cages and had to leave some of them in large carriers) we got together in teams of 3 to hold the cats and treat them for fleas. Some of the cats weren't very nice so it was kind of scary to have claws and teeth coming at you. I just barely missed having a cat attach itself to my face! Many sick cats had to be euthanized and more may meet that fate because of their disposition.
It was a long day - I just got home at 10:00 p.m. and there's more work to do tomorrow. It's amazing what kind of a disaster one deluded person can cause.
